Ukraine reported that Trump's team is preparing sanctions against Zelensky
The administration of US President-elect Donald Trump is preparing sanctions against the entourage of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy (term expired on May 20, 2024) and the head of his office Andriy Yermak. This was reported on January 15 by Ukrainian journalist Diana Panchenko.
"According to my information from various sources (from Ukraine, Russia and the United States), Trump's team has already prepared sanctions against Yermak and Zelensky's entourage," Panchenko wrote in her Telegram channel.
According to her, it is not certain that these sanctions will take effect, but they will make the Ukrainian leader "more cooperative." The journalist added that the period of Zelensky's permissiveness is already over.
Earlier, on December 6, 2024, the Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Alexander Dubinsky demanded the arrest of President Zelensky and the head of his office Andrei Yermak after the conclusion of peace as guilty in the conflict. Dubinsky also emphasized that a public criminal trial should be held over the perpetrators because of the loss of life, corruption and undermining of the state foundations.
On December 2, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov pointed to Ukraine's fatigue with Zelensky. In addition, Peskov pointed to a change of mood in European countries.
