Finnish company HMD Global has withdrawn from the sale of smartphones under the brand Nokia. This was reported by TechNetBooks portal on January 13.

Now only the latest models of smartphones of HMD's own brand are presented on the company's website. However, Nokia button phones remained available for sale. It is indicated that HMD will continue to use the Nokia brand for budget button phones.

At the same time, Nokia phones have been moved to the "obsolete" section and marked as unavailable for purchase, now replaced by HMD Key, HMD Arc and HMD Fusion models.

It is noted that the company's products were unable to compete with market leaders Apple and Samsung.

In 2014, Microsoft acquired Nokia's smartphone division to revive the legendary models, but the idea failed to materialize. After, in 2016, a license agreement was signed, which gave HMD the right to produce these devices.

Earlier, in October 2024, Microsoft Corporation stopped the production and sale of augmented reality glasses HoloLens 2. It was clarified that the development was presented as a business device, not a daily-use headset for "ordinary people". The headset will receive updates until 2027. By 2028, the corporation's augmented reality devices will no longer be supported.
