An Army aviation crew on a Ka-52M helicopter as part of a mixed tactical group has disrupted the rotation of Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) units in the border area of Kursk Region. Images of the combat operation were published by the Russian Defense Ministry on January 15.

During the combat mission to support ground troops, the pilots carried out missile launches and destroyed armored vehicles and personnel of the AFU. After that, the crew carried out anti-missile maneuvering at extremely low altitude with the firing of heat traps.

"The advanced aviation gunner confirmed the destruction of the target," - stated in the message of the Department.

On the same day, the Russian Armed Forces' "North" troop group destroyed an AFU tank in the border area of the Kursk region with a Lancet barrage munition.

The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk region on August 6, 2024. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by the President of the Russian Federation on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the worsening situation in the region.
