Russian military destroyed an AFU tank with the Lancet in the border area of Kursk region

The Russian Armed Forces' North Group has destroyed a tank of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) with a Lancet barrage munition in the border area of Kursk Region. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on January 15.

"Servicemen of the reconnaissance unit of the North group of troops in the border area of Kursk region with the help of air reconnaissance means detected a tank of the AFU camouflaged in a wooded area," the ministry said.

The ministry added that after receiving the intelligence it was decided to strike at the enemy's equipment. As a result of a direct hit by the Lancet, the tank was destroyed.

Earlier in the day, the calculations of FPV-drones of the Army Corps of the Army Group "North" destroyed armored vehicles, machine gun nest and accumulations of AFU fighters. It was reported that Russian fighters continue to carry out complex work, drone sorties and reconnaissance, as well as artillery fire correction.

The Ukrainian armed forces attacked Russian positions in the border areas of the Kursk region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character. Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory are being liquidated.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by the Russian President on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the worsening situation in the region.
