A series of murders of young girls, which were committed 22 years ago, have been solved in Moscow region. This was reported on January 15 by the press service of the Main Investigative Directorate (MID) of the Investigative Committee (IC) for the region.
In the message of the department in Telegram-channel it is noted that the criminal case was initiated against a 50-year-old resident of the Novosibirsk region, he is charged with committing murders of four young girls on the territory of the Moscow region under paragraphs "a", "k" of part 2 of article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Murder").
"According to the investigation, in 2002, while in the Moscow region for training, the accused committed a series of murders, coupled with rape. He attacked girls in the dark, inflicted on them injuries depriving the victim of the possibility of resistance, after which he committed sexual violence and then killed," the agency writes.
One of his victims was a Moscow college student whom he killed in a forest park in Podolsk. The second and third attacks were committed in a city park in Pushkino. The fourth attack he committed on a student of the Moscow State Institute of Culture from Peru, after whose murder the defendant returned to the Novosibirsk region.
In July 2024, investigators in the study of archival cases established the sign of seriality of the murders of the girls. After that, a decision was made to conduct a study of physical evidence, as a result of which the biological samples of a previously convicted resident of the Novosibirsk region were established.
During interrogation, the man confessed to what he had done and told the details of the murders. At the moment, the accused is being checked for involvement in other murders on the territory of the Moscow region and in other regions of the Russian Federation.
Earlier, on December 7, 2024, the Zyuzinsky district court of Moscow elected a measure of restraint for a murder committed a quarter of a century ago. The man is accused of a crime under paragraphs "g", "h" of part 2 of article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Murder with the purpose of concealing another crime or facilitating its commission"). According to the investigation, he and other attackers, among whom was a minor, being in collusion, killed a man on Chongarsky Boulevard of the capital.
