Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold talks with Central African Republic (CAR) leader Faustin-Arkange Touadera on January 16. This was reported by the Kremlin press service on January 15.
"On January 16, Vladimir Putin will hold talks with the President of the Central African Republic Faustin-Arkange Touadera, who is in Russia on an official visit," - said in a message published in the Telegram-channel.
It was reported that during the meeting the leaders will discuss the state and prospects for further development of bilateral cooperation in the political, economic and humanitarian spheres, as well as raise topical issues of the international and regional agenda.
Earlier in the day, the Russian Embassy in the Central African Republic reported that Touadera had arrived in the Russian capital. It was specified that he will stay in Moscow until January 17.
A spokesman for Central African Republic head Albert Mokpem announced the visit of the republic's president to the Russian capital on January 13.
Last November 20, Putin held a telephone conversation with Touadera, during which the Russian side confirmed its readiness to continue assisting the CAR in strengthening the national economy, sovereignty and security of the country. In addition, the parties agreed to continue maintaining contacts at various levels.
Prior to that, Touadera paid an official visit to Moscow to participate in the forum of supporters of the fight against modern practices of neocolonialism, which was held from February 15 to 17. At that time, he met with Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council and chairman of the United Russia party.
