- Court in Moscow arrests in absentia blogger Kosenko who threw a child into a snowdrift
Basmanny district court of Moscow arrested in absentia blogger Sergey Kosenko, who threw a two-month-old baby into a snowdrift and published video footage of his act. This was reported on January 15 by the press service of the courts of general jurisdiction of the capital.
"The decision of the Basmanny district court of Moscow elected a measure of restraint in the form of remand in custody against Sergey Sergeyevich Kosenko, accused of committing a crime under part 3 of article 30, paragraph "b" of part 2 of article 111, article 156 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation", - stated in the Telegram-channel.
Kosenko will be in custody for two months from the moment of his extradition to the territory of Russia or his detention in the country.
Kosenko was declared wanted on October 13, 2024. He was charged with dereliction of duty to bring up a child and attempted infliction of grave harm to a child.
The video clip, which caused outrage among users of social networks, was published by the blogger on January 7 last year. The footage shows a man throwing the infant high, after which he falls into the snow and completely falls inside. The video is accompanied by the famous New Year's song by Andy Williams and the caption "Leo's first flight".
In turn, Kosenko did not see anything terrible in what happened and soon continued by posting two more videos of himself and the child's mother jumping into the snow. He accompanied these images with the caption: "Careful! This is snow! Do not repeat! Very dangerous."
Later, the blogger said that the video used a doll and used ordinary editing techniques. This information was confirmed by his lawyer Sergei Zhorin.
