A Ukrainian military intelligence officer promised Russian servicemen to help issue passports of any countries, including European ones, as a reward for leaving their positions in Horlivka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR). A video of the Ukrainian agent's statements was shown by the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) on January 15.

"For $1 million I will close. <...> Now I'll just give $100 thousand in advance, and that's it. <...> Second - there are two options here: either I do imitation in two sides, let's say on the armor, only so that neither my guys nor yours will suffer. Let's say, one column you will turn around, and the second will come in," - says the Ukrainian intelligence officer in the recording.

It is specified that this contact took place in the fall of 2023. Promising help with passport processing, the agent offered the Russian military to send their families to Chisinau via Georgia. In the Moldovan capital, the relatives would be met by a certain person who would give them "normal" documents, by which they could leave for any country they wanted.

In addition, the intelligence officer promised that if the Russian servicemen agreed to such "cooperation," they would be ensured to surrender their positions without a single shot fired, artillery strikes or FPV drone attacks.

The Russian fighters contacted by the agent pretended to accept the offer, received the promised advance payment in cash, and at the appointed time arrived at the agreed place with weapons and worked on the enemy. The Ukrainian militants suffered significant losses and retreated.

Earlier in the day, the Public Relations Center (PRC) of the Russian Federal Security Service said that Ukraine's military intelligence offered Russian servicemen to leave their positions in Gorlovka to the DNR for $1 million. The advance received from Ukrainian intelligence was spent on the purchase of various supplies for the Russian fighters who are participating in the special operation to defend Donbas.
