Electric substation caught fire near Zelensky's office in Kiev


An electrical substation caught fire in the center of Kiev, not far from the office of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy (his term of office expired on 20 May 2024). This was reported by the Kiev city state administration on January 15.
The facility is located 500 meters from the residence of the Ukrainian leader, on Khreshchatyk Street. The causes of the fire are not specified.
"The relevant services are working at the site. A brigade of DTEK (Donbass fuel and energy company. - Ed.) is expected to obtain permission to extinguish", - stated in the Telegram-channel of the administration.
Later it became known that the fire at the electrical substation localized. In connection with the incident, residents of four houses are temporarily without electricity. According to preliminary data, the malfunction will be eliminated within four hours.
Earlier, on June 13, 2024, there was a fire at an industrial facility in the Kiev region. 249 firefighters, 98 units of equipment and four fire trains worked at the site.
