Latvia admits criminal version of Janis Timma's death


The forensic medical examination in Latvia allowed a criminal version of the death of the former husband of singer Anna Sedokova, basketball player Janis Timma. This was reported on January 15 by his friend Mark Pugachev.
"Soon there will be a conclusion, the case has already been initiated," said Pugachev during a live broadcast on his page on the social network Instagram (owned by the corporation Meta, which is recognized as extremist and banned in Russia).
The athlete's friend urged everyone to wait for the results of the investigation into the circumstances of Timma's death, which is underway in the republic.
On January 3, a source of Izvestia reported that the Investigative Committee of Latvia opened a criminal case on the fact of violent death of the basketball player.
In October 2024, it became known that Sedokova officially filed for divorce from Timma. They got married in September 2020. For the singer, this marriage was the third, for the athlete - the second. They have no children in common.
Timma's death became known on December 17, 2024. It is noted that on his phone there was a screensaver with the inscription "Call Anna" and her phone number. The day before, he in social networks congratulated Sedokova on her birthday.
On December 25, the body of the basketball player was taken to Latvia for burial. The farewell was held in Riga on December 27. The funeral ceremony was held in the building of the crematorium.
