Three Russians injured in plane crash near Aktau remain in hospitals

Three Russians, who were injured in the crash of a passenger plane near Aktau, remain in hospitals in Moscow, while six people have been discharged. This was reported on January 15 by the Assistant Minister of Health of Russia Alexei Kuznetsov.

"Three Russians injured in the crash of the Azerbaijan Airlines plane in Kazakhstan remain in hospitals of federal centers and hospitals in Moscow, doctors assess their condition as moderately severe with a favorable prognosis," Kuznetsov told reporters. His words are quoted by TASS.

He added that six victims, including a child, were discharged from medical facilities under medical supervision due to improvement of their health condition.

A passenger plane of AZAL Airlines, heading from Baku to Grozny, crashed near the Kazakh city of Aktau on December 25. The Ministry of Transport of Azerbaijan called the preliminary cause of the crash outside interference. After the incident a criminal case was initiated.

There were 62 passengers and five crew members on board. A total of 38 bodies were found at the crash site, three people from the crew survived. Seven Russians died in the crash, nine citizens of the Russian Federation survived, a special air plane of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation took them to Moscow.

The commission to investigate the plane crash flew to Brazil with the black boxes on December 29. It was specified that together with CENIPA investigators, three specialists from Kazakhstan, three from Azerbaijan and three from Russia will take part in the decoding. Preliminary results of the investigation of the plane crash will be made public within 30 days. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia was interested in an objective and impartial investigation into the crash.
