The FSB reported an increase in the number of calls from false security officers
Fraudsters are increasingly presenting themselves as security and law enforcement officers over the phone. This was stated by the official representative of the FSSB of Russia in the DNR Arina Klepanova.
"Modern telephone scammers use the most sophisticated ways of misappropriating money and property of citizens," she said.
Also, the official representative of the FSSB of Russia for the DNR reminded that the employees of the Federal Security Service (FSB) never offer to fulfill unlawful orders, do not require citizens to make any financial transactions.
At the same time, security officers do not use messengers to communicate with citizens and do not send photos of their IDs and service documents, nor do they notify citizens of criminal prosecution by phone, she warned.
Klepanova urged to hang up the phone if during the conversation on the phone persons call themselves representatives of law enforcement agencies.
"In case you receive such calls, independently double-check the information received by official phone numbers of organizations or agencies. Even if you received a call from a known departmental phone, it is worth dropping this call and independently call back," - emphasized in the agency and added that fraudsters can substitute the phone number and the voice of the interlocutor.
Earlier, January 4, the head of the Center for Law Enforcement in Moscow and Moscow region, lawyer Alexander Khaminsky warned of a new scheme of fraud with a call to the jury. Thus, attackers write to citizens by e-mail or through messengers, attaching active links, when going through which the fraudsters get access to passwords for various applications, including banking.
