D-30 howitzer crews destroyed Bradley BMPs and AFU strongholds

Calculations of 122-millimeter D-30 howitzers of the 122-millimeter howitzers of the motorized rifle regiment of the "West" group of troops have destroyed a Bradley infantry fighting vehicle of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), as well as camouflaged strongholds and enemy manpower in the zone of the special military operation. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on January 15.

According to the agency, during reconnaissance activities, servicemen of the motorized rifle unit uncovered camouflaged strongholds, an accumulation of enemy manpower and the movement of the Ukrainian army's Bradley infantry fighting vehicle to positions for personnel rotation. Then the coordinates of the targets were immediately transmitted to the calculations, one of which hit the turret of the U.S.-made Bradley BMP, a fire broke out inside the enemy vehicle and there was a detonation of ammunition.

"We are working actively, there are a lot of targets. We hit all targets 100%. Our unit is working on both planned targets and newly emerging targets. We destroy the enemy's manpower and military equipment. We break defenses and fortifications, support infantry. <...> Recently worked on Bradley. An enemy BMP came into an intersection. It was our planned target, we were given a command and within two minutes we stopped it and destroyed it," - said a senior officer of the battery with the call sign Kara.

It is noted that the enemy due to the work of scouts and artillerymen constantly suffers losses in manpower and equipment, can not carry out movement, ammunition supply and rotation of personnel. At the same time calculations of D-30 howitzers perform fire cover for the actions of motorized rifle and assault units in the zone of the NWO, destroying targets at a distance of over 15 kilometers.

"We work on the enemy's manpower, infantry, armored groups and heavy equipment. All our personnel are underground. Three knurls. The gun is also protected. The camouflage is complete. Protected from enemy UAVs. The guys in our squad are young, loaded, they all came to the service voluntarily, to defend the Motherland," said the gun commander with the call sign Mussa.

The gun crews are in well-camouflaged firing positions. For example, to avoid detection by the enemy, the positions are equipped underground with passages, messages and everything necessary to fulfill the combat task. The drones also help artillerymen in reconnaissance and identification of new targets and in correcting artillery fire.

Earlier, on January 14, an artillery crew of a 122-millimeter D-30 howitzer destroyed the positions of Ukrainian militants in the Orekhovsky direction in the Zaporizhzhya region. Reconnaissance was conducted with the help of two drones, and after confirming the presence of fortifications and manpower, the coordinates were sent to the artillery unit's control center.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
