More than half (54%) of the Russians surveyed reported that they expect a raise in 2025: 41% hope for a raise in salary, 1% - in position, and 12% expect a raise in both position and salary. This is stated in the results of the study of services Work.ru and "Podrabota", which were reviewed by "Izvestia" on January 15.

At the same time, 41% of respondents shared that they received a raise in 2024: 35% of them have increased their salaries, 3% have been promoted, and 6% have changed both their position and labor remuneration.

Experts found out that the most significant barrier to promotion, according to respondents, is the lack of suitable vacancies (27%). This is followed by the problem of being underestimated by the manager (24%), and 22% shared that they had recently joined the company. Lack of initiative (18%) and lack of qualifications (17%) were also cited by respondents.

In addition, barriers included: unpreparedness for new responsibilities (12%), requiring self-reflection and development of management skills, promotion by colleagues from other departments (9%) and lack of soft skills (5%).

At the same time, 48% of Russians surveyed would not mind changing jobs for the sake of a promotion. Almost as many (45%) are ready to improve their qualifications or undergo additional training. 26% are ready to take on additional responsibilities and tasks.

14% of the survey participants are ready to stay at work longer. 12% are not against moving to another city, and 10% of respondents can work on weekends. Also 10% are ready to make friends with their bosses.

Earlier, on October 29, 2024, it was reported that among employed Russians 37% of respondents positively perceive overtime, if the employer pays extra for them. And only 11% of employees are willing to perform overtime tasks without compensation. This is evidenced by a survey conducted by the analytical center "Consol.Pro".
