Zakharova accused Biden of pushing the world toward nuclear confrontation

US President Joe Biden and the current White House administration have been consciously pushing the world towards the start of a nuclear conflict. This was stated by Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova on January 13, commenting on the US president's final foreign policy speech.
"Biden, in his final foreign policy speech, recognized that US support for Kiev created a risk of unleashing a nuclear confrontation with Russia. Biden's statement today is an admission of a consciously committed provocation," she wrote in her Telegram channel.
Zakharova emphasized that the current White House administration knew that it was setting the world on the path of nuclear conflict, but continued to do so anyway.
According to her, all those in the West who slandered Russia and accused the country of alleged nuclear destabilization and "rattling nuclear weapons" should be called liars and spreaders of fakes after Biden's statement.
Earlier in the day, Biden said during his final foreign policy speech that US support for Ukraine had created risks of unleashing a nuclear confrontation with Russia.
Before that, on December 17, political analyst, economist and Columbia University professor Jeffrey Sachs said that the United States was provoking a nuclear war with Russia by escalating the situation around Ukraine. The analyst noted that by escalation he meant the situation in the Middle East and the US decision to strike US missiles deep inside the Russian Federation.
On December 10, The National Interest magazine reported that NATO may deploy B-61 nuclear bombs on the territory of Poland or Ukraine in response to Russia's use of the Oreshnik medium-range ballistic missile.
In addition, on November 25, U.S. Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Green, commenting on media reports that the administration of incumbent President Joe Biden is seriously considering transferring nuclear weapons to Ukraine, called it a crazy idea. She suggested it was an excuse to stop the transfer of power to President-elect Donald Trump.
Russian President Vladimir Putin approved an updated nuclear doctrine on Nov. 19. It includes the amendments announced in September. In particular, for the first time a definition of a potential adversary against whom Russia is conducting nuclear deterrence is introduced. On November 21, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia was making every effort to prevent a nuclear exchange with the United States.
