Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko at a meeting with Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, which took place in Hanoi on January 12 ahead of the visit of Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, pointed to an increase in tourist flow to Vietnam to almost 85%. This was reported on January 13 in the press service of the Russian government in Telegram-channel.
It is noted that in 2023 the tourist flow from Russia to Vietnam increased three times, for 2024 the increase amounted to almost 85% - up to 232.3 thousand trips. At the same time from Vietnam to Russia tourist traffic increased by 25.4% in the first nine months of 2024. The growth has been boosted by an increase in flights and the launch of an e-visa mechanism.
"Since the previous meeting, we managed to resolve a number of important issues. In particular, we have finalized the agreement of a comprehensive cooperation plan until 2030. I am confident that with joint efforts in the new year we will achieve even greater success. There is great interest from the Russian side in cooperation with Vietnam," the Russian Deputy Prime Minister said.
Tran Hong Ha noted the two countries' comprehensive strategic partnership and fraternal relations, adding that there are no reasons that "hinder the development of their cooperation."
Earlier in the day, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin flew to Vietnam for a two-day official visit. It is planned to discuss scientific and technological, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation. It is also planned to sign a number of joint documents.
