Prior to that, on December 19, Yahya Saria, a military spokesman for Yemen's Ansar Allah (Houthis) movement, said that the missile forces carried out a drone attack on a target located in Tel Aviv. He emphasized that the Houthis will stop their attacks the moment Israel's aggression in the Gaza Strip stops.

The situation in the Middle East escalated on the morning of October 7, 2023, when the Palestinian radical movement Hamas subjected Israel's territory to a massive rocket attack from the Gaza Strip. On the same day, Israel began retaliatory strikes.
