- Tyson Fury was born on August 12, 1988, seven weeks premature and weighed only 450 grams. Doctors feared he would not survive, but his father, professional boxer John "Gypsy" Fury, who had previously lost two premature daughters who died in infancy, believed in his son and his ability to fight for life. He named the child after American heavyweight boxer Mike Tyson.

- Boxing training for Fury began at an early age. He was first trained by his father, and when he went to jail for fighting and causing injury, his uncles, Huey and Peter Fury, continued his training. Tyson's cousins also became boxers.

- As a junior, Fury was ranked third in the world behind Russians Maxim Babanin and Andrei Volkov. He hoped to represent Ireland at the 2008 Olympics, but failed to qualify. Disappointed in amateur boxing, the athlete did not wait for the next Olympics and began a professional career.

- In 2015, Tyson Fury met Wladimir Klitschko in the ring. Before that, the Ukrainian heavyweight boxer had not lost to anyone for almost 12 years and was the clear favorite. But Fury studied his opponent well and as a result won the fight on points, winning the IBF, WBA and WBO unified world title.

- In May 2024, Tyson Fury again entered the ring against a Ukrainian boxer, this time the unified heavyweight champion Alexander Usik, and suffered his first defeat in his professional career. The rematch with Usik in October was also a failure for Fury. Both results of the matches were decided by judges' decision - Fury lost on points.

Fact 4: Remembered for his eccentric antics and harsh statements

- Tyson Fury in public acquired the image of a "typical Irishman " - boisterous, abrasive and very religious. He often criticized abortion and LGBT (recognized as an extremist movement and banned in Russia. - Ed.), saying that for such behavior people are waiting for "biblical retribution".
