'Your Name' anime producer faces 6 years in prison for child molestation

Producer of full-length anime films and one of the creators of "Your Name" and "Suzume Closing Doors" Koshiro Ito faces six years in prison on charges of organizing child prostitution and possession of child pornography. This was reported by Times Entertainment on January 12.
"In February 2024, he was arrested for receiving explicit images from a minor," the piece noted.
In addition, in March 2024 Ito was again detained on suspicion of seduction of a 15-year-old girl. According to journalists, the producer paid large sums of money to more than 100 teenagers for their candid photos and the right to date them.
Prosecutors say the producer took advantage of the immaturity of young Japanese men to satisfy his sexual fantasies by luring the teens with his fortune.
Earlier, on September 16, 2024, former British BBC broadcaster Hugh Edwards was sentenced to a six-month suspended prison term for possession of child pornography. In July, 63-year-old Edwards pleaded guilty to three charges of making indecent photographs of children. It is specified that he obtained 41 images from a messenger service, including two pornographic videos featuring a child under the age of nine.
