Armenian Foreign Minister to pay two-day working visit to the US

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan will pay a visit to the United States to meet with his counterparts, including Secretary of State Anthony Blinken. This was reported by the press service of the Armenian ministry on January 13.
"Mirzoyan will hold a number of meetings with his colleagues in the United States, including Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, within the framework of his visit on January 14-15," Interfax quoted the press service as saying.
On January 9, the Armenian government at a session approved a draft law on starting the process of the state's accession to the European Union. Mirzoyan noted that the country's relations with the EU have been developing "intensively and dynamically" in recent years. According to him, the EU has provided Yerevan with assistance, particularly in the security sphere, as well as expressed readiness to help the economic development of the state.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov pointed out that it is hypothetically impossible to combine membership in the EU and the EAEU, because the two associations are significantly different. Besides, cooperation in the EAEU is beneficial for Yerevan.
