Kremlin calls U.S. beneficiaries of Russian gas supply cuts to global market

The United States, which is significantly increasing supplies of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to European markets at inflated prices, is the beneficiary of Kiev's energy terrorism. This was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on January 13.
According to him, the US together with the Kiev regime is trying to carry out a whole series of sabotage actions to undermine the energy market in Europe, among such actions are the undermining of the Nord Stream and Nord Stream-2 gas pipelines, as well as Ukraine's attempt to attack the Russkaya compressor station in the Krasnodar region, which supplies gas through the Turkish Stream pipeline.
"The beneficiaries of all this are the United States, which is significantly increasing, consistently increasing the supply of liquefied gas to European markets. Moreover, this is gas that is sold at very, very inflated prices," Peskov told reporters.
In addition, he called the attempted attack on the station in the Krasnodar region a dangerous link in the chain of actions of explosions and sabotage for European consumers.
Earlier in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry said that on January 11, Ukraine tried to attack with nine drones the compressor station in Krasnodar region, through which gas is supplied by the "Turkish Stream". The ministry stressed that Russian air defense forces shot down all the drones. A representative of the European Commission, Anna-Kaisa Itkonen, commenting on this at a briefing, said that Brussels had no contacts with the Ukrainian side on this issue.
The first deputy chairman of the State Duma's defense committee, Aleksey Zhuravlev, told Izvestia the same day that the European Union (EU) intended to dissociate itself from the attempted terrorist attack on the Turkish Stream gas pipeline station.
Turkish political analyst Mehmet Perinçek told Izvestia that the Ukrainian Armed Forces' attack on the station was expected, as Kiev and Washington had openly stated plans to obstruct its operation.
Ukrainian militants have been trying to strike Russian territories against the backdrop of the special operation in Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
