A 4.9-magnitude earthquake hits China's Tibet Autonomous Region


In China, an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.9 was registered in the Tibet Autonomous Region. This was reported on January 13 by TASS, referring to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center.
It is reported that the epicenter of the earthquake was located 83 km northeast of the Nepalese town of Lobuche with a population of about 8.7 thousand people.
There was no information about casualties and destructions.
Earlier, on January 7, an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.1 occurred in China near the border with Nepal and Bangladesh. Underground tremors were recorded in the Tibet Autonomous Region. The epicenter was located at a depth of 10 km and at a distance of 63 km south-west of the city of Shigadze, which is inhabited by 80 thousand people.
