Mi-28NM crew disrupted AFU rotation in the Kursk border area

An aviation crew on an Mi-28NM helicopter as part of a mixed tactical group has disrupted the rotation of Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) units in the border area of Kursk Region. The Russian Defense Ministry published footage of the combat mission.
With the support of ground troops, the pilots of the Army Aviation carried out missile launches at the designated targets and destroyed equipment and personnel of the AFU.
After the strike, the crews carried out anti-tank maneuvering at extremely low altitude with the firing of heat traps that prevent enemy man-portable air defense missiles from hitting the target.
Destruction of the target was confirmed by a forward air gunner.
Earlier in the day it was reported that the Russian Armed Forces (AF) repelled five counterattacks of the Ukrainian army in the Kursk direction. In total, during the fighting in this direction, the AFU lost almost 51.5 thousand people.
On January 11, the crew of the Su-34 supersonic fighter-bomber of the Russian Air and Space Forces (VKS) hit armored vehicles and personnel of the Ukrainian troops in the border area of the Kursk region. After receiving confirmation of their destruction, the crew returned safely to the departure airfield.
The Ukrainian army attacked Russian positions in the border areas of the Kursk region on August 6 last year. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character. The operation to destroy the AFU continues.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
