- The European Commission is concerned about the attempted attack of the AFU on the infrastructure of "Turkish Stream"

The European Commission (EC) has expressed concern over the attempted attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on the compressor station of the Turkish Stream pipeline in Krasnodar Region. This was stated by the EC representative Anna-Kaisa Itkonen at a press conference in Brussels on January 13.
According to her, any attack on energy infrastructure is a cause for concern, but the European Commission has not yet received any comments from the Ukrainian side.
"We continue to monitor everything related to energy security, but we cannot say anything regarding this attack from an energy point of view," the TASS news agency quoted the EC spokeswoman as saying.
Earlier in the day, Russia's Defense Ministry said that Ukraine on January 11 tried to attack with nine drones a compressor station in the Krasnodar region, through which gas is supplied by the Turkish Stream pipeline. It was specified that air defense units repelled the attack, shooting down all the drones.
Before that, on January 5, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) attacked with a drone the training center of the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP), which houses the world's only full-scale reactor hall simulator. On the same day, employees of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) described explosions near the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant after the Ukrainian drone strike.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova urged the international community to react to the constant strikes that Ukraine is carrying out on Russian nuclear energy infrastructure facilities. She emphasized that Kiev should be forced to stop playing with the lives of the peoples of Europe and other continents.
Ukrainian militants are trying to strike Russian territories against the backdrop of the special operation in Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
