The Sovfed spoke out about possible talks between Putin and Trump
The talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President-elect Donald Trump should be approached cautiously, professionally, analyzing all possibilities. This opinion was expressed by Grigory Karasin, chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, on Monday, January 13.
"Less attention should be devoted to comments in the media, because it confuses the picture. Each of the parties, including other parties, third or fourth parties, are trying to do their part to finally confuse the situation and make negotiations more difficult. Therefore, the less comments on this, the better," Karasin said in a conversation with Lenta.Ru.
According to the senator, professionals thinking about how to achieve a mutually acceptable result should get involved.
"It is necessary to move towards this constantly. Breakthroughs, apparently, there will be no breakthroughs. But the logic of peace, interaction and bringing order to the actions of the Ukrainian regime must prevail. I believe in this and hope that professional efforts will be crowned sooner or later with a proper result," Karasin concluded.
