Siyarto condemned the AFU attack on the Turkish Stream infrastructure in Russia

An attack on the Russkaya compressor station, through which gas is supplied by the Turkish Stream pipeline, is tantamount to an encroachment on the sovereignty of the countries that use it. This was stated by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations of Hungary Péter Szijjártó on January 13.
He specified that the pipeline provides natural gas supplies to Hungary and Central Europe. In addition, Turkish Stream is a reliable transportation route, thanks to which transportation companies and transit countries comply with their contractual obligations.
"We expect the security and operability of this transportation route to be respected by all. Security of energy supply is a matter of sovereignty, so any actions that threaten the security of our energy supplies should be considered an attack on sovereignty," he wrote on his Facebook page (part of Meta, recognized as an extremist organization and banned in Russia)
Earlier, on January 11, Ukraine tried to attack the Russkaya compressor station in the Krasnodar region with nine drones. Air defense units repelled the attack, shooting down all the drones. The station's personnel were not injured, and damage was also avoided. Fragments of one of the drones fell, slightly damaging the building and equipment of the gas metering station at Russkaya. Gazprom's emergency response teams on duty quickly eliminated the consequences of falling fragments and repaired the equipment.
