Mobilization in Ukraine has failed and Ukrainian servicemen are demotivated. The commander of the unmanned systems battalion of the 30th separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) with the call sign Prokuror said this on 13 January.

He added that in his battalion - the majority are mobilized.

"But there are very demotivating things that are happening, we call it looking-glass, further than 50 km from the line of contact," - are the words of the military in the Telegram-channel of the edition "Strana.ua".

Earlier in the day it was reported that Ukraine detained an employee of the Mykolaiv regional military enlistment office, who for money helped military conscripts to avoid mobilization.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky (term of office expired in May last year) signed the law on tightening mobilization on April 16, 2024. The document lists the categories of citizens who are subject to conscription. It also toughens penalties for evasion of service in the AFU, but there are no provisions on demobilization.

Martial law in Ukraine has been in effect since February 2022. Later, the Verkhovna Rada repeatedly extended it. Most men aged between 18 and 60 are banned from leaving the country.
