The creators of Russian vaccines should participate in the issue of profit distribution from the sale of these drugs abroad. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting with the CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) Kirill Dmitriev on January 13.

"I asked that the developers of these drugs, so necessary for both our country and foreign countries, not feel like strangers when there is a distribution of profits from the sale of these drugs. And I asked to make such a scheme, in which the developers would also receive certain funds, and not only for personal consumption, but also for the development of relevant areas of their activities," - said the head of state.

Dmitriev, in turn, said that one of the examples of implementation of this initiative is the transfer of leading groups of the National Research Center of Epidemiology and Microbiology named after N.F. Gamaleya. N.F. Gamaley significant funds personally from the sales of the domestic vaccine Sputnik.

"This is one of the first examples where really many scientists received very substantial sums because their contribution to the creation of the national vaccine was very significant. We are talking about quite large sums there, not only for the main developers, but also for the entire team of about 40 people who took part in the creation of the vaccine," the RDIF CEO reported to Putin.

Also during the meeting Dmitriev informed the Russian President that during the period of work RDIF together with its partners has invested over 2.3 trillion rubles in the Russian economy. He noted that Br1 trillion was allocated to greenfield projects after the creation of new industries and enterprises.

Before that, on November 25 last year, Putin called the creation of a cancer vaccine in Russia a breakthrough. On December 16, Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko said that there is a request for Russian oncovaccine from other countries. He added that next year the Russian Federation will start using the drug in clinical units.

On December 17, the selection of candidates for participation in research of the oncovaccine being developed in Russia began.

Andrei Kaprin, an oncologist at the Russian Health Ministry and director general of the National Medical Center of Radiology, said that the drug will be free for all Russian citizens. In addition, he noted that the oncovaccine has shown high efficacy in preclinical trials.
