The Defense Ministry published footage of the Russian Armed Forces during the liberation of Peschanoye in the DNR

On January 13, the Russian Defense Ministry published footage of the combat work of units of the "Center" group of troops during the liberation of the settlement of Peschanoye in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR).

"Units of the 74th Independent Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade and the 55th Independent Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade (Mountain) of the Center group of troops liberated the settlement of Peschanoye in the Donetsk People's Republic," the agency said in a statement.

It is specified that in the course of offensive actions in the area of Peschanoye with the help of reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) of the brigade were identified firing positions and places of accumulation of living forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

Artillery and attack drone crews, including those with ammunition drop systems, were used to destroy the positions.

Servicemen of the Armed Forces (AFU) of the Russian Federation planted the Russian flag in the liberated settlement and continue to liberate the territories of the DNR, the ministry added.

Earlier in the day, the Defense Ministry reported that Russian servicemen liberated Peschanoye in the DNR.

On the eve of the Russian Armed Forces liberated the settlement of Yantarnoye in the DNR and the village of Kalinovo in Kharkiv region. The work was carried out by units of the groups of forces "West" and "South". The Russian army defeated the AFU's manpower and equipment in the areas of six localities in the regions.

Also on January 12, the Russian Defense Ministry published footage of the destruction of AFU personnel and equipment by UAVs of the "Center" group of forces in the Krasnoarmeysk direction.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
