Russian Armed Forces repel five Ukrainian army counterattacks on the Kursk direction

The Russian Armed Forces have repelled five counterattacks by the Ukrainian army in the Kursk region. This was reported in the Russian Defense Ministry on January 13.

"Five counterattacks of the enemy were repulsed," the report said.

In addition, units of the "North" troop group defeated formations of 11 Ukrainian brigades in the area of Viktorovka, Goncharovka, Guevo, Kubatkin, Kurilovka, Lebedevka, Malaya Lokna, Makhnovka, Nikolayevka, Nikolayevo-Daryino, Novaya Sorochina, Pogrebkov, Sverdlikovo and Cherkassky Porechnoye.

In total, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) lost almost 51.5 thousand people during the fighting in the Kursk direction, and over 230 fighters in a day.

Earlier in the day, the Defense Ministry published footage of the destruction of armored and automotive equipment of the AFU by the calculation of FPV-drones of the Rubicon center in the Kursk direction. Means of objective control recorded a direct hit on the targets.

The Ukrainian army attacked Russian positions in the border areas of the Kursk region on August 6 last year. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character. The operation to destroy the AFU continues.
