- The Cabinet of Ministers supported the ban on dismissal of the sole breadwinner of a large family
The Russian government has supported a project to ban the dismissal of a parent who is the sole breadwinner in a large family with children under 14 years of age. This was reported by the Cabinet of Ministers on January 13.
"The Government of the Russian Federation supports the draft law subject to its finalization taking into account the above comments," TASS quoted the words of the Cabinet's official response.
It is specified that we are talking about families in which at least three minor children are growing up and at the same time only one of the parents is working. Currently, there is already a ban on the dismissal of such breadwinners, but it applies only until the youngest child is three years old. The authors of the initiative proposed to expand this restriction, so that the only working parent could not be fired on the initiative of the employer, if the family is raising three children under the age of 14 years.
Earlier, December 20, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting of the State Council that the first thing to do is to eliminate restrictions on the pension rights of parents of five or more children. Now childcare is counted in the employment history, but in the aggregate it can not exceed six years, and starting from the fifth child and not accrue pension coefficients at all. The President emphasized that it is necessary to take into account in the pension amount the periods of care for each child up to the age of one and a half years.
