Peskov said that there were no discussions in the Kremlin about canceling the USE
The topic of canceling the USE is not being discussed in the Kremlin, as this issue should be decided by the government, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on January 13.
"The Kremlin is not a participant in this discussion. This topic is not discussed in the Kremlin. Still, this topic should be discussed in the government," he said during a briefing, answering a relevant question from journalists.
In this case, we are talking primarily about the responsibility of the Ministry of Education and Science, Peskov reminded.
On the eve of the head of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs Yaroslav Nilov predicted a gradual abandonment of the USE in Russia. According to him, this is indicated by the revision of some of the rules for taking the exam, as well as the beginning of the discussion on the integral system of assessing the knowledge of schoolchildren.
Before that, on December 10, 2024, Valery Fadeev, head of the Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights (HRC), said that it is necessary to introduce an integral assessment of graduates' knowledge in schools. He noted that the average score could be taken into account when entering a university together with the results of the USE.
