Defense Ministry reported Ukraine's attempt to attack the Turkish Stream station

On January 11,Ukraine tried to attack with nine drones a compressor station in Krasnodar Region, through which gas is supplied via the Turkish Stream pipeline. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on January 13.
"On January 11, 2025, the Kiev regime, in order to stop gas supplies to European countries, attempted an attack using nine aircraft-type UAVs on the infrastructure of the Russkaya compressor station in the locality of Gai-Kodzor (Krasnodar region), which provides gas supply through the Turkish Stream pipeline," the ministry said in a statement.
Air defense units repelled the attack, shooting down all the drones. The station's personnel were not injured, and destruction was also avoided. Fragments of one of the drones fell, slightly damaging the building and equipment of the Russkaya gas metering station. Gazprom's emergency response teams on duty quickly eliminated the consequences of falling fragments and repaired the equipment.
The Russkaya compressor station supplies gas to the Turkish Stream on a regular basis, there was no pumping failure.
Earlier, on January 5, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) attacked with a drone the training center of the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP), which houses the only full-scale reactor hall simulator in the world. On the same day, employees of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) described explosions near the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant after the Ukrainian drone strike.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, commenting on the AFU attack, called on the international community to react to the constant strikes that Ukraine is carrying out on Russian nuclear energy infrastructure facilities. She emphasized that Kiev should be forced to stop playing with the lives of the peoples of Europe and other continents.
Later, on January 13, the Russian Defense Ministry said that air defense assets had shot down eight bomber aircraft over Russian regions overnight. Six of them were destroyed over the Voronezh region, and one each over the Bryansk and Belgorod regions.
Ukrainian militants are trying to strike Russian territories against the backdrop of the special operation in Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
