Pulkovo reported that the airport was operating normally
Pulkovo airport in St. Petersburg is operating in normal mode. This was reported in the press service of the air harbor on January 13.
"Pulkovo is working in a normal mode. Due to the fact that yesterday, January 12, the airport temporarily restricted the reception and release of aircraft, today (January 13. - Ed.) also possible changes in the schedule," - stated in a message in the Telegram-channel of the airport.
According to Rosaviatsia spokesman Artem Korenyako, Pulkovo served 185 flights from 20:30 Moscow time on January 12 to 08:30 Moscow time on January 13. As Korenyako noted in his Telegram channel, 104 aircraft departed from the airport, and 81 landed there.
Irina Ryabova, a passenger on the delayed flight, told Izvestia that she was flying from Izhevsk. She noted that the departure of her plane from Izhevsk to Moscow was delayed by 3.5 hours, while the flight from the capital to St. Petersburg was delayed by 50 minutes.
Another passenger on the delayed flight, Joachim Coffinier, shared that he was supposed to arrive from Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk to St. Petersburg back on January 12 evening, but the flight was canceled.
"We were offered to stay in a hotel and ended up changing the flight to (this morning. - Ed.)," Coffinier shared.
The restrictions imposed on flights at Pulkovo were already reported the previous morning. They were in effect until 13:30. Due to bad weather in the area of the airport 33 airplanes went to alternate airfields. Later in St. Petersburg again suspended the reception and release of aircraft due to worsening weather conditions. Rosaviatsia official spokesman Artem Korenyako said that heavy rainfall in the form of snow continued in the Pulkovo area. Later, the airport's press service reported that operations had been resumed.
