In Sweden, a patrolman slipped on the territory near the royal palace in Stockholm and pierced his head with the bayonet of his own rifle. This was reported by the newspaper Aftonblade on January 11.

As the newspaper notes, after the incident, medics and police quickly arrived at the scene. The man was saved.

"The accident is being investigated by the police, which has launched a preliminary investigation into the fact of violations of working conditions and/or causing bodily injury," the publication said.

Earlier, on December 31, 2024, it was reported that 10 people were injured, six of them children, when part of a large Lego installation fell in Peabody, Massachusetts. According to the fire department, the balloons were about to be released from nets inside a family entertainment center. The net was attached to a structure about 2.5 meters high. Staff pulled on it too hard and the figure fell on the guests below.
