Arrears on Zakharchenko's criminal fine reached 125.5 million rubles
Criminal fine arrears of ex-MIA Colonel Dmitry Zakharchenko, convicted of bribery, increased due to non-payment on time by more than Br8.2 million and reached Br125.5 million. This was reported by "RIA Novosti" on January 13, referring to the data of court materials and enforcement proceedings.
In 2019, the court assigned Zakharchenko a criminal fine of 117.99 million rubles, while the prosecution insisted on a larger amount - 494.9 million rubles. Bailiffs in 2020 initiated enforcement proceedings to recover over 117.2 million rubles from the convict, but due to the failure to pay the debt in due time, the total amount owed is 125,529,837 rubles.
Earlier, August 21, lawyer Valeria Tunikova reported about Zakharchenko's request to go to the SVO. According to her, Zakharchenko filed a petition about a year ago, but there is still no final decision. The lawyer emphasized that despite the fact that Zakharchenko received permission from the Ministry of Defense, the contract is hindered by the administration of the correctional facility where the former colonel is serving his sentence.
Zakharchenko is serving a 16-year sentence in a high-security colony following two court convictions for bribes of 1.4 billion rubles.
On November 30, 2023, the Moscow prosecutor's office reported that the court had turned Dmitry Zakharchenko's property worth more than 50 million rubles into state revenue after he was convicted of corrupt activities.
Zakharchenko, who was deputy head of the T department of the Interior Ministry's anti-corruption directorate, was detained in September 2016. During the investigation, he and his relatives were found to have money in various currencies totaling 8.5 billion rubles, as well as jewelry and real estate.
According to the investigation, from 2007 to 2016, Zakharchenko systematically received bribes from an organized group. He was charged with their receipt and abuse of power. On May 17, 2022, the court sentenced Zakharchenko to 16 years in a strict regime colony, as well as a fine of 500 million rubles in the bribery case.
In December 2022, the capital's prosecutor's office filed a lawsuit with the Nikulinsky District Court to seize Zakharchenko's property worth more than 50 million rubles as state property.
Later, on October 26, 2023, the court sentenced ex-FSB officer Dmitry Senin to nine years in absentia for mediation in the transfer of a bribe to Zakharchenko. The convict is currently on an international wanted list.
