Residents of liberated Kurakhovo told about the lawlessness of the Kiev regime

Motorized rifle units of the Southern Group of Forces have started evacuating residents of the town of Kurakhovo in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) liberated by Russian servicemen. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on January 13.

According to residents of Kurakhovo, there was lawlessness in the town before it was liberated. Those who spoke Russian received threats and insults.

Men who fell under the so-called mobilization in Ukraine had to hide from military commissars.

"Men were taken away without even announcing mobilization from the age of 22. It was from the Donetsk region. Men were caught, thrown out, in entrances, everywhere, near stores were taken. Even in Ukraine there was no mobilization - they already took them", - shared Artem Avramchenko.

On the territory of Kurakhov you could get a bullet for anything, even just going for water.

"With the AFU I did not communicate, but they shot at me several times. When we went for water. For being Donetsk, for being Russian. For the fact that we are "waiting", - told Anatoly Anin.

Ukrainian formations used the remaining residents of the city as human shields. Back in the fall, the Kiev regime announced evacuation of the population in Kurakhovo. But there were very few people willing to leave for other regions of Ukraine. Almost all their relatives and close people are here in Russia.

"There was such joy, just happiness. And you know that you will come here, live a peaceful life with your children, go to the store, go to the movies. But it's impossible there, because everything has been closed down. There's no hospital because all the doctors have left. Because they knew that there would be no life there," said Svetlana Pavlenko.

The Russian Defense Ministry reportedabout the liberation of Kurakhovo by the Russian military on January 6. The ministry said that this is the largest city in the southwest of Donbass. During the fighting to liberate the settlement, the AFU lost more than 12,000 people and about 3,000 weapons and military equipment.

On January 8, it was reported about the capture of 18 AFU fighters in the Kurakhovo area in the DNR. In addition, the Russian army in this area repelled three counterattacks of the AFU assault brigades, destroyed a tank, an infantry fighting vehicle, an M113 armored personnel carrier, seven pickup trucks, two artillery pieces and an ammunition depot.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
