The Donbass Dome system intercepted 208 UAVs over Donetsk and Makeyevka in a week

The Donbass Dome airspace defense and electronic warfare (EW) system detected and intercepted 208 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over Donetsk and Makeyevka during the week. This was reported on January 13 by the official representative of the Russian FSSB in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) Arina Klepanova.

It is specified that a terrorist operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to blow up a gas main near one of the schools in the Kirovsky district of Donetsk was disrupted.

In addition, Klepanova reported the suppression of a drone designed to distract the forces of the system "Dome of Donbass" from the subsequent attack of a copter with an improvised explosive device.

"Explosive technicians of the FSS of Russia in the DNR with the help of special technical means disabled the drones' controls and destroyed explosive objects with an overhead charge on the spot," Klepanova informed, adding that there were no civilian casualties and no damage to infrastructure.

Earlier, on January 3, Semesenko said that during the New Year holidays the system "Dome of Donbass" intercepted 72 Ukrainian drones. It is specified that Ukrainian militants launched a drone with an explosive substance weighing more than 15 kg towards a peaceful infrastructure facility.

The AFU is shelling Russian territory on a daily basis against the backdrop of the special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Moscow announced on February 24, 2022.
