The terrorist attack in New Orleans was a direct result of the failed policies of the outgoing administration of U.S. President Joe Biden. This was stated by Senator Kathy Britt to CNN on January 12.

"The mother (of one of the victims in New Orleans - Ed.) told me that she never imagined that her son would die at the hands of a terrorist. And if you try to understand how that happened, I think it's a direct result of Biden's failed policies around the world," she commented.

Britt expressed concern about the risks of new terrorist attacks in the United States. She also recalled how in 2024 the Democratic leader in the U.S. Senate Chuck Schumer twice ignored her requests for a briefing on the threats of terrorist groups in the upper chamber of Congress.

On New Year's Eve in New Orleans, a truck struck a crowd of people on Bourbon Street, then the driver got out and started shooting. Law enforcement returned fire and eliminated him. According to the latest reports, at least 10 people were killed and 35 others were injured.

The FBI specified that two police officers were wounded in the shooting, and explosive devices were found at the scene of the tragedy. It is preliminarily established that most of the victims are local residents. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Russians, tentatively, were not injured in the incident in New Orleans.

Later, on January 3, the media reported that Biden planned to visit New Orleans on January 6 to support families whose loved ones were killed in the terrorist attack.
