- The Ministry of Economic Development ruled out an increase in the number of business splits due to the fine-tuning of the tax system
It will be unprofitable for representatives of the business sphere to split as a result of additional adjustment of the tax system. This was reported in an interview with "Izvestia" by Deputy Head of the Ministry of Economic Development Tatyana Ilyushnikova.
From 2025, the taxation of small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) is changing - the income threshold for simplification is raised, but from 60 million turnover value added tax (VAT) is introduced.
"Modern entrepreneurs tend to work not in the "gray", but in the legal field. The threshold of 60 million is economically justified, as almost 97% of small and micro businesses are below that, and medium-sized companies will remain VAT payers," Ilyushnikova explained.
In addition, she continued, entrepreneurs will have a choice - to keep full-fledged VAT accounting or pay VAT under a simplified scheme.
The representative of the agency emphasized that it is too early to assess the impact of tax adjustments on SMEs. At the same time, the Deputy Minister of Economy noted that the sector is growing and developing, we need to wait six months to a year to see the impact of the new parameters.
"It is also important to realize that with a high key rate, investment activity freezes, which is also an important factor, but it has nothing to do with changes in the tax system," the deputy head of the Ministry of Economy pointed out.
