At least 17 people were killed and dozens were injured in an explosion at a gas station in al-Bayda province in Yemen. This was reported by Reuters on January 12, citing Yemen's Houthi-controlled health ministry.

"At least 17 people were killed and dozens injured in an explosion at a gas station and gas storage facility in Yemen's al-Bayda province on Saturday," the agency informed.

It is specified that among the injured 50 people are in critical condition.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that 10 people were killed and 65 injured in an explosion at a gasoline filling station (FFS) and a gas storage facility in Yemen's al-Bayda province. The gas station was crowded with customers at the time of the explosion, causing chaos as civilians tried to leave the burning complex. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the explosion, which remains unclear.
