First Deputy Commander of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus Alexander Bykov said that in 2024, special detachments were sent to the border areas of Brest and Homel voblasts to prevent saboteurs from entering the territory of the republic. He told about it in an interview with the STV TV channel on January 12.

"We basically for this purpose and created six special purpose detachments, which are deployed in each region of our country. That is, the forces and means necessary to ensure stability, calm and security in Hrodna voblast, Vitsebsk, Mahiliou," said Bykov.

According to the first deputy commander of the internal troops of the Interior Ministry, in 2024, to protect the border areas and to assist local police departments were sent detachments of the Interior Ministry and SOBR, which are still there in temporary deployment points with all possible forces and means to realize the goals of counter-terrorism and counter-sabotage.

Earlier, on January 8, a representative of the Ukrainian State Border Service Andriy Demchenko said that the state was installing fortifications and strongholds on the border with Belarus in Volyn region. According to him, the video surveillance system will be improved on the border.
