Ilon Musk has named the cause of the California fires

American entrepreneur Ilon Musk doubted that the cause of wildfires in Los Angeles (California) is caused by climate change. On January 12, he said in the social network X (former Twitter).
"If the climate change explanation were correct, Texas, which has twice as much forested area as California, would have about twice as many wildfires destroying homes," the billionaire wrote.
According to him, the climate is changing, but slowly. Musk also said that the problem in Los Angeles is the lack of firebreaks and the inability of services to clear brush. In addition, he noted the difficulty in providing adequate water supply.
The businessman pointed out that the reason for the fires is incompetent authorities at the state, county and city levels.
Earlier in the day, the Bloomberg agency said that a fire in the U.S. state of California could have been caused by a broken wire. The material notes that the wire was found on the tower associated with the Eagle Rock Sylmar power line. That tower is owned by Edison International.
Numerous wildfires in Los Angeles were reported on January 8. According to the latest reports, the death toll has risen to 16. Extinguishing continues, strong winds fuel the fire, rescue crews lack water. Due to the fires in the state declared a major disaster regime. The projected damage from the disaster will be about $52-57 billion. More than 12.3 thousand buildings were destroyed.
More than 1 thousand American prisoners were sent to extinguish the fire, which should contain the spread of the fire. Mexico also sent a group of firefighters to Los Angeles to fight the fire.
