Two people killed and four wounded in DNR as a result of AFU shelling
In the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR), two civilians were killed and four were injured after new shelling by the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) during the past day. This was reported by the head of the DNR Denis Pushilin on January 12.
"In addition to the bus driver, a man (personal details are being established) was killed in Nikitovsky district of Gorlovka when an explosive object was dropped from an AFU drone at the public transportation stop "Mercury Combine"," Pushilin noted in his Telegram channel.
In the Central City district of the city, a woman born in 1939 received moderate wounds after the enemy used barrel artillery. In Kurakhovo, a man born in 1986 sustained moderate injuries after shelling.
Also, a woman born in 1984 and a man born in 1962 were injured when explosive objects were dropped from AFU drones onto cars in Gorlovka.
"The injured are receiving qualified medical care," Pushilin added.
In addition, two residential houses, four infrastructure facilities (administration of the Nikitovka district of Gorlovka, a utility company, power lines) and six cars in Gorlovka neighborhoods were damaged.
The Ukrainian enemy carried out more than 20 armed attacks during the day. The AFU used 155 mm caliber artillery, as well as attack drones, the DNR head specified.
Earlier on January 12, the mayor of Gorlovka Ivan Prikhodko noted that traffic on the highway Gorlovka - Yasinovataya in the DNR had to be temporarily closed due to shelling by Ukrainian militants. Prikhodko urged Gorlovka residents and guests to use other routes for transportation and not to risk their safety.
On the same day, it was reported that a bus driver was killed in Gorlovka during an attack by an AFU drone. Ukrainian militants dropped an explosive object on the vehicle in the Nikitovsky district.
Ukrainian militants are trying to strike Russian territories against the backdrop of the special operation in Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
