Mines found in IKEA warehouse in Poland that went missing last summer

In the Polish warehouse of the company IKEA found 240 anti-tank mines, which were lost in the summer of 2024. This was reported by Reuters, citing prosecutors.
"In July, the army lost 240 anti-tank mines, which were later discovered in a train car near a warehouse belonging to Swedish furniture retailer IKEA," the publication said on January 10.
It is specified that the train was not fully unloaded upon arrival. As a result, the ammunition was discovered nine days after shipment. The CEO of IKEA Industry Poland Malgorzata Dobies-Turulska confirmed the discovery of the mines.
Lukasz Wawrzyniak, a spokesman for the district prosecutor's office in Poznan, told the agency that four Polish servicemen were suspected in the incident. The suspects face up to five years in prison.
Earlier, on December 6, 2024, Verkhovna Rada MP Oleksiy Honcharenko (listed by the Russian Federation as a terrorist and extremist) reported the seizure of a batch of 150,000 defective mines previously supplied to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
