Russian cybersports player Kryshkovets recognized as the best CS2 player of the year

Russian cybersports player Danil Kryshkovets (donk) from Team Spirit won the "Counter-Strike 2 Player of the Year" award at the HLTV Awards.

The award ceremony took place on Saturday, January 11, in Belgrade. This is the first time in history that a Russian has won the Best Player of the Year award.

In addition, the 17-year-old Kryškovets took home awards in the Rookie of the Year, Best Moment of the Year and Entfrager of the Year categories.

In second place among the top 20 players was another Russian cybersports player - Ilya Osipov (m0NESY) from the G2 Esports team. Kryshkovets' teammate Dmitry Sokolov (sh1ro) also made it to the list of the best players, he took the sixth place.

On December 16, 2024, Team Spirit won the main Counter-Strike 2 tournament at Shanghai Major 2024. They defeated the Europeans from Faze Clan with a score of 2:1. Team Spirit earned $500 thousand for winning the tournament.
