Polish defense minister says Poles are tired of Ukrainians in expensive hotels

Polish society is experiencing fatigue from the conflict in Ukraine and frustration over Ukrainian refugees, Polish Defense Ministry head Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz said in an interview with the Financial Times on January 12.
"Of course, there is fatigue in Polish society, and it is understandable, especially when people here see young Ukrainian men driving the latest models of cars or staying in five-star hotels," he said.
It is noted that one of the recent reasons for disagreements between the two countries was Warsaw's refusal to supply Kiev with the remaining Polish MiG-29 fighter jets.
According to the minister, he understands the role of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky (term of office expired on May 20, 2024) as a person who will "always demand more help." At the same time, Kosiniak-Kamysh expressed the opinion that Ukraine should also not forget about the Polish military supplies it has already received.
Earlier, on December 5, 2024, Warsaw Mayor Rafal Trzaskowski said that about 150,000 Ukrainian refugees still live in the Polish capital. He called to prepare for the fact that some of them will stay in the city forever.
Before that, in October, Kosiniak-Kamyszki said Poles were annoyed by the luxurious vacations of refugees from Ukraine. The head of the Polish Defense Ministry called it unfair to his fellow citizens.
