Six people killed and eight injured in restaurant fire in Czech Republic


Six people were killed and eight injured in a fire at a restaurant in the Czech town of Most, the Cesky noviny newspaper reported on Sunday, January 12, citing the fire department and police.
The fire occurred the night before. According to preliminary data, the cause was the overturning of a gas heater. It was followed by an explosion of a cylinder with propane-butane mixture. By the time the fire brigade arrived, the fire had completely engulfed the building.
The victims were taken to hospitals. It is specified that six of them were seriously injured.
To extinguish was involved 12 specialists, who evacuated some of the residents of neighboring buildings. The circumstances of the beginning of the fire are being established.
Earlier, on December 28, 2024, 150 people were evacuated in one of the restaurants in Nizhny Novgorod because of a charcoal grill that caught fire. The Russian Emergencies Ministry officers who arrived on the scene extinguished the fire.
