The roof of the school swimming pool collapsed in Vladivostok, there were no casualties. This was reported on Sunday, January 12, by the mayor of the city Konstantin Shestakov in his Telegram-channel.

"Today the roof collapsed in a freestanding building of the swimming pool of school №72 on Artekovskaya Street. At this moment no one was in the building, there are no victims. On the fact of the incident is being checked," - he said.

At present, a local emergency regime has been introduced. As Shestakov noted, the building will be fenced, and warning signs and video surveillance cameras will be placed around it. The school building itself will be inspected for safety purposes.

In the future, depending on the results of the inspection, it is planned either to carry out major repairs of the pool building or to dismantle it. In the second case, the vacated space is planned to be allocated for the construction of a fitness center.

Training at the school will be held in a distance mode until January 20.

"Ordered within a week to conduct a technical survey of all municipal facilities where there are swimming pools," - concluded Shestakov.

Earlier, on September 17, 2024, in the Second St. Petersburg gymnasium of Emperor Alexander I, the ceiling in the dining room partially collapsed. There were no casualties as a result of the incident - the canteen staff removed the children from the room in time.
