Ka-52 crew strikes missiles at AFU armored vehicles in Kursk region

An army aviation crew on a Ka-52 helicopter as part of a mixed tactical group has struck with aerial missiles at the manpower and armored vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the border area of Kursk Region. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on January 12.
In the course of supporting the units of the "North" group, the pilots worked on the given coordinates and hit the armored vehicles, as well as the living force of the AFU with air missiles.
After receiving confirmation from the aviation gunner that the target had been successfully destroyed, the crew performed anti-missile maneuvering with the firing of heat traps to prevent the missiles from hitting the man-portable air defense system (MANPADS).
Earlier, on January 11, the crew of a Su-34 supersonic fighter-bomber of the Russian Air and Space Forces (VKS) struck armored vehicles and personnel of Ukrainian troops in the border area of Kursk Region. The strike with aviation bombs with a universal planning and correction module was carried out on reconnaissance targets.
The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk Region on August 6 last year. The situation in the region was recognized as a federal emergency. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
